Long Weekend is a three-day mini-festival taking place on the fourth Friday of each month. Featuring a mix of comedy, music and various other performances, attendees can explore Downtown, visit local food vendors and see any number of shows for the price of a single ticket.
I created the branding for Long Weekend, an eye-popping blast of color and hand-drawn illustration style meant to express the fun nature of the event. Patrons create their own schedule in advance, so I wanted the branding to feel handmade as well, right down to having space on each festival pass for people to draw their own portrait. The headliners are the comedians, so I wanted to inject some humor into the swag bags, offering a pair of undies, for example. Not to be taken too seriously, Long Weekend is a time relax, laugh and be with friends.
